American golfer Wyndham Clark has revealed plans to propose to his girlfriend Emily Tanner after his PGA Tour season comes to an end.
The 32-year-old world No. 3 shared his intentions ahead of the season-ending Tour Championship, confirming he hopes to get engaged during an upcoming vacation in Cabo, Mexico.
Clark explained that he plans to spend time relaxing after next week's tournament before continuing a busy schedule that includes the Presidents Cup, an event in Japan, and a tournament in South Africa. He stated that he hopes Tanner will be his fiancee by the time the 2027 season begins.
"That's my happy place," Clark said of Cabo. "So I'll be down there having fun. Presidents Cup, I'm playing a tournament in Japan. Hopefully get engaged and then going to South Africa for a tournament as well."
When asked for further details regarding his hope to get engaged, Clark added: "Hopefully, she says yes."
Whirlwind Romance and Relocation
The couple's relationship developed rapidly after connecting online through mutual friends in late January.
Tanner, a 31-year-old influencer from Detroit, previously opened up about their fast-moving romance during an Instagram Q&A session last month. "We met end of January and fell pretty fast," Tanner wrote. "We're super similar and we get along so well."
The pair publicly confirmed their relationship in April at the Masters Par-3 contest, an annual tradition held at Augusta National Golf Club ahead of the major tournament.
Tanner announced on August 20 that she is relocating from California, where she has lived for five years, to move in with Clark. "I cannot believe I'm about to say this, but I am moving," Tanner said in an Instagram video posted days before Clark competed in the BMW Championship.
"I have lived in California for the last five years and honestly, I never thought that I would leave here," Tanner added. "I think one of the most special parts about falling in love is realizing that the life you've pictured for yourself can completely change when you find someone that you want to build it with."
Reflecting on her decision, Tanner noted: "After months of living out of a suitcase, I am so excited that I finally get to live with my best friend and start our new chapter together. It's definitely bittersweet to leave California, but I think I'm more excited than anything."
Standout PGA Tour Season
Tanner has supported Clark in person throughout his career-best year, attending all three of his tournament victories.
Clark doubled his career win total this season by winning the CJ Byron Nelson Cup near Dallas in May, before claiming major glory at the US Open and adding another victory at the BMW Championship. His dominant form has placed him third in the world rankings behind Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, generating strong calls for him to win the PGA Tour Player of the Year award.
Following his first win of the season in Texas, Tanner celebrated on social media with a photo of the couple kissing next to the trophy. "So unbelievably proud!! Love you so much @wyndhamclark," she wrote.
Clark has credited Tanner with playing a significant role in his on-course performance this year. "Fortunately, I got a great girlfriend I can hang out with, and she distracts me and keeps me from worrying about what's going on and I stay in the present, so she helps a lot," Clark told reporters during his tournament run.
