Former NBA basketball player to Ben Gordon were charged with assaulting their son and resisting police, reports the Associated Press.
The incident happened Monday at New York airport. Witnesses said Gordon yelled at his 10-year-old son and punched him multiple times in the face for dropping a book on the floor. The ex-athlete later attacked police as they tried to handcuff him and put him in a patrol car.
Gordon is charged with assault, resisting police and endangering a child. On Friday, the 39-year-old American is due to appear in court.
Previously, Gordon was already under arrest, the former player was arrested on suspicion of assault and theft.
Gordon spent 11 NBA seasons with Chicago, Detroit, Charlotte and Orlando.
