Didi receives proposal from the NBA and leaves Franca before his debut

Ala Didi Louzada will return to the NBA and will be the second Brazilian to play in the league this season; the announcement came less than a week after confirming his return to Franca Basquete

O france basketball announced the return of the wing Didi Louzada, formed in the base categories of the club, last Wednesday, October 12th. However, the player is already leaving without even having played in this second spell at the São Paulo club. The 23-year-old will return to play in the NBA and his destiny must be the Cleveland Cavaliersfrom Ohio.

According to Franca officials, Didi’s contract has a release clause if the player receives an offer from an NBA club. Before returning to Brazil, the player was defending the Portland Trail Blazzers, until he was released at the end of August. The winger said goodbye to the fans of the current champion from São Paulo and the NBB through a video, which was published on the team’s social networks.

“Sorry to leave so quickly, without warning, without seeing anyone, but it’s a dream of mine, not only mine but the family’s, to represent Brazil in the best league in the world”, said Didi. The player reveals that it was a difficult decision and, despite being close to realizing a dream, he was sad to have to leave Franca so soon. “I was happy with the proposal, but at the same time sad, I had just returned to the place where I was always welcomed, I made history, I want to thank everyone, fans, friends.”

Didi has not yet confirmed if his destination is really the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he will be able to team up with the only Brazilian active in the current NBA season, point guard Raulzinho Neto. The Cavs already had Anderson Varejao as a great exponent of Brazil, the player played for 12 seasons in the franchise and played together with stars of the league, such as Lebron James, Shaquille O’Neal and Kyrie Irving.

Through an official note, Franca Basquete, as a training club, expressed great pride in this achievement in Didi’s career. In his farewell, the athlete did not rule out a possible return to the team that launched him into the world. “Thank you very much for the reception, you welcomed me with open arms, I hope to wear the Franca shirt again in the near future”added the wingman.
