Athletistic/Basketball. On Monday, October 17, it was learned that the women’s basketball teams of Russia and Belarus have been suspended from participating in the European Championship qualification in 2023.
This decision was taken by the FIBA-Europe Executive Committee due to the crisis in Ukraine. This decision also applies to Old World club tournaments.
Previously, the Russian team was unable to take part in the 2022 World Cup, which took place this fall. The continental championship in the summer of next year will be hosted by Slovenia and Israel.
