New NBA season starts this Tuesday

NBA returns this Tuesday, with the debut of the 2022/23 season; Duel between Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers is the highlight of the first round

The NBA is back! The 2022/23 season of the main basketball championship in the world starts this Tuesday, 18. The defending champion Golden State Warriors enters the court in search of the eighth title in the history of the franchise, and faces the Los Angeles Lakers at the competition’s premiere, starting at 23:00 (Brasília time).

The first game of the season will be played between Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers, at 8:30 pm (GMT), at the TD Garden, and the greatest champion in the league’s history – with 17 titles alongside the Lakers – tries to recover from the frustration in recent editions. The first round games will follow on Wednesday the 19th.

favorites to the title

According to projections from bookmakers in the United States, the Golden State Warriors are the favorites to win the title this season. The team starts the competitive year with the same five holders as the Finals in the 2021/22 conquest.

The top 10 is formed, in sequence, by: Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets.

Brazilians in the NBA

Brazil will have two representatives in the season that will begin. Point guard Raulzinho and point guard Didi Louzada, who will defend the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2022/23. The latter was announced by the franchise this week.

Some changes to broadcasts in Brazil for this season have already been confirmed. The two matches on Tuesday, 18, will be shown by Amazon Prime Video, which took over the load of games that previously belonged to SporTV – which did not renew its broadcasting contract in the country.
