Ginzburg: We need to fix a lot of problems, but a victory is a victory

At the end of the game with Bursaspor, Clavell decided a lot

Prometheus Head Coach Ronen Ginzburg commented on the victory over Bursaspor in a match the third round of the Eurocup group stage.

“We played against a very good team, with a lot of experience and a good coach. And I’m glad that the players made an effort. We were wrong, of course. We started the game not so well, but we managed to come back, so I can be satisfied. We have a lot of problems to fix, but a win is a win and against a team like that, it’s a good win.”

“Sometimes we didn’t use our big ones, so we couldn’t play our game. Undoubtedly, our strong point is a fast game, but I think that today we played a lot of isolations, we looked for the weakest places in the opposing team, for example, some players were on fouls, we tried to use it. Therefore, I think that our attack today was not just a game of fast break. It was something more.”

“Clavell played 18 minutes in the first half. I thought that if I kept him 10 more minutes in the third quarter, we would lose at the end of the game tonight. In the end, he came back exactly when needed and played well at the end. If he spent 35-38 minutes on the court, it would be problematic.”

“Issouf is a huge talent. However, he has to correct those ridiculous mistakes he makes in attack and defense and move things in his head into the right positions – then he will be a very good player. I hope he continues to move in the right direction.”

Recall that Prometheus defeated the Turkish Bursaspor in the match of the third round of the Eurocup group round – 90:84.

This is the second victory of Prometheus in the Eurocup. Earlier, Ginzburg’s team defeated Litkabelis (82:71) and lost to Brescia (70:104).

In the next match of the Eurocup, Prometheus will play on the road against Joventut on November 2. The top 8 teams from the two subgroups will advance to the Eurocup playoffs.
