The Brooklyn Nets announce the departure of Steve Nash as head coach

Press service brooklyn nets announced his retirement Steve Nash as the team’s head coach.

A decision on the next head coach will be made shortly.

“We would like to thank Steve for all he has brought to our franchise over the past two seasons. Steve has faced a number of unprecedented challenges since taking over as head coach and we are truly grateful for his leadership, patience and humility throughout his tenure.

It was an extremely difficult decision. However, after careful consideration and assessment of the start of the season, we have come to the conclusion that changes are needed at this stage,” said general manager Sean Marks.

Nash took over the Nets in 2020. Under his leadership, the team had 92 wins and 62 losses.

Brooklyn has won two and lost five in seven regular season games this season.
