On the day of the women’s Winline final of the Russian Cup Zenit – CSKA, the Blue-White-Blues signed a four-year cooperation agreement with a children’s sports organization from the city of Volkhov at the Gazprom Arena. The agreement provides for joint training and tournaments. In addition, Volkhov students will be able to train according to the methods used by Zenit. Over time, according to Medvedev, the cooperation will expand to other sports.
– Without tens of thousands of girls who will start playing football in childhood, we will not be able to see such masters as in the final of the Russian Cup. Our cooperation covers a very important part of the training of young footballers. It’s good that the number of children going to play football is increasing. We are happy that Volkhov pays attention to this, there is already a good infrastructure and specialists. The main thing is that children have a desire not only to sit and touch the buttons on the computer, but also to play sports. In addition, Volkhov athletes will be able to come to Zenit training and matches. But cooperation involves not only attending matches, but also helping to organize the training process and competitions. In the future, we will attract athletes from various sports: football, basketball, handball,” Medvedev said.
The Russian Cup final took place in Saint Petersburg on Friday and ended 2-1 in favor of the army club, which lifted the trophy for the second time in its history.
