Brooklyn Flyers defenseman Irving loses contract with major sportswear manufacturer over anti-Semitic messages

Defender”brooklyn » Kyrie Irving lost a major advertising contract with clothing, footwear and accessories maker Nike due to anti-Semitic social media posts. A company representative told reporter Shams Charania about it.

“At Nike, we believe there is no place for hate in the world. We condemn anti-Semitism in all its forms. The company is deeply disappointed with this whole situation and how it affects others, – said in a report.

According to Forbes, through his collaboration with Nike, Irving earned around $11 million a year.

Previously, the basketball player had posted on a social network a link to the anti-Semitic film “From Jews to Blacks: Wake up Black America”. After that, he refused to apologize for his act at a press conference. The Nets suspended Irving for five regular season games without pay. The club’s general manager, Sean Marks, told reporter Nick Friedel that the issue of the basketball player’s expulsion from the team had not been raised.

Suite Irving nevertheless apologized via social networks.

Irving, 30, has played eight games this season in the NBA, averaging 26.9 points, 5.1 assists and 5.1 rebounds.
