United States men’s team fell to second place in the rankings of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), reports the press service of the organization.
Following the results of the 2023 World Cup qualifying matches, the Spanish national team moved up to the front row, earning 758.6 points. The Americans have 757.5 points. The third row is occupied by the Australian team (740.3).
The Americans have held the top spot in the rankings since 2010.
FIBA announced in September that Russian and Belarusian clubs were suspended from participation in the Women’s Euroleague, Eurocup and FIBA Europe Cup in the upcoming season due to of the situation in Ukraine, the Russian men’s team was suspended from participation in EuroBasket, the women’s team in the world cup.
