The date and place of the farewell to the Olympic basketball champion of the USSR national team Alzhan Zharmukhamedov has become known.
According to the CSKA Moscow press service, the ceremony will take place at LFC CSKA Moscow on Wednesday, starting at 10:15 a.m.
On Saturday it became known that Zharmukhamedov died at the age of 79 after a long illness.
Zharmukhamedov – winner of the 1972 Olympics in Munich, bronze medalist of the 1976 Games in Montreal, silver and bronze medalist of the world championships, three-time European champion. As part of CSKA, he became 10 times champion of the USSR and owner of the European Champions Cup.
