President of the VTB United League Sergei Kushchenko told Sport24 that for domestic clubs, the transition to Asia will not be an effective development measure.
— I think we are still a European league, for many years we have earned serious authority in this area. We have to see who the opponents will be. Probably, the competitive history is Chinese clubs, there is basketball in Iran.
The project is relaunched in Dubai. We’re just tracking that, but it’s hard to say it will be effective for our league. There is a manual mode – which will happen next summer, we will start from here, – said Kushchenko.
Earlier, Kushchenko said the issue of inviting foreign teams to participate in the VTB United League is under consideration.
