“In the second stage of the United League, a tight fight in the top six is expected” – Yelevich

Honored Coach of Russia Sergei Elevitch in a chat with , he hinted that a close fight in Group A is expected in the second leg of the United League.

Following the results of two rounds of the United League regular season, the entrants have been split into two sixes – Group A and Group B. The top six clubs will compete for home advantage in the playoffs, the top six subsequent teams will play for the two remaining places in the quarter-finals.

group A: CSKA, UNICS, Zenit, Pari Nizhny Novgorod, MBA, Lokomotiv-Kuban.

Group B: Samara, Parma Pari, Avtodor, Yenisei, Astana, Minsk.

– According to the results of the first stage of the championship, first of all, of course, I would like to mention the MBA. It’s a team that shows modern basketball and at the same time doesn’t have a single foreign player on its roster. I believe their direction is correct. I thought that now other United League teams will mainly play Russian basketball players, but that doesn’t even happen in the Super League. But it seems to me that the whole issue will be built in the development of our basketball and in the development of our players. In general, on Sunday I will gladly go to the first match of the third round, where CSKA and MBA will meet.

I think it’s fair that they made the third round of the championship (second stage – editor’s note). Because 22 games in two rounds is very little. Now we can already watch more productive matches. Let’s say a very close fight is expected in the top six. I’m sure the third round will be very interesting, – said Elevich “”.

The second stage of the United League championship begins on January 28 and 29.
