NBA: Tatum talks tribute to Kobe Bryant against Heat

Young NBA star Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics was candid about the armband used in reference to former player Kobe Bryant in the series against the Miami Heat

Jayson Tatumstar of NBA fur Boston Celticstalked about gesture in reference to Kobe Bryant in Game 7 against Miami Heat, for the Eastern Conference Finals. The winger wore a purple armband with the number 24 (used by Kobe in his career) in yellow as a way of honoring the late idol.

“It was Game 7. Everyone knows how much Kobe means to me. My idol. My favorite player. This was the biggest game of my career so far so I wanted to wear this armband to honor him and share that moment. I think it worked”, explained Tatum. It’s the first time the Celtics have reached a season finale since 2010, when they were beaten by Los Angeles Lakers in Game 7, when Kobe was still on the team.
