The Ukrainian club topped its group in the Eurocup
Prometheus head coach Ronen Ginzbur commented victory over the spanish club Joventut Badalona in a match Eurocup.
“We played the first half as we wanted. Made some mistakes in defense. In the second half, they created problems for themselves. Because Hoventut started playing the tricky zone. We had opportunities for open shots, but we didn’t use those opportunities. However, in the end we scored 23 points. We played against a good team with a good coach, experienced players who knew what they were doing. Because in the last minutes they were able to return to the game. When you play against such a team, you know that they are capable of a comeback. At the end we fought and won the match.”
“I think the players in the second half started to think too much in attack because there was a lot of open space for shots, passes, executioners without the ball, players start to think too much. And that stopped us. However, by the end of the quarter we were able to level off and they abandoned that zone. I think the players are a little tired, because today I limited the game minutes for some of them. If we lost this match, that would be the reason. But we won. And I’m happy that we won.”
Prometheus in the match of the 13th round of the Eurocup group stage beat Joventut Badalona (95:90).
Ginzburg’s wards topped Group A after 13 rounds played. On February 8, Prometheus will fight Olympia.
