The King can be this Wednesday in the rivalry between the Lakers and the Thunder in the leading scorer in the history of the NBA and the tickets are on the roof.
It’s only five days before the game between the Lakers and the Thunder where that’s expected LeBron James became the leading scorer in NBA history, a ticket to see that moment live and courtside costs $30,208.
According to data on Thursday night from StubHub, reference portal for legal resale in the US, that ticket to witness the record -if predictions are met and there are no injuries- just a few meters away is the most expensive of those currently available on that website. The ticket itself it costs 23,660 dollars but we must add more than 6,500 dollars of management costs.
On the other hand, the cheapest tickets sold on StubHub are worth it 386 dollars (plus expenses) in section 306, which is an upper corner of the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
LeBron, who scored 26 points Thursday in the Los Angeles Lakers’ win over the Indiana Pacers, is just 63 points away from surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s legendary mark (38,387 points). Since he averaged 30.2 points per game and the Angels face the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday, LeBron will likely match the record on Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder or on Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks. (both games will be played in Los Angeles).
A historic LeBron James jersey has sold for $3.68 million
The Miami Heat jersey where LeBron James’ second NBA title of 2013 sold Friday for $3.68 million at an auction held in New York by Sotheby’s.
James wore the jersey in the seventh and final game of the 2013 Finals, against the San Antonio Spurs, one of the most iconic moments of his career: that day he won his second straight championship and also his second finals MVP. With 37 points and 12 rebounds, LeBron ended perhaps his best season with a 95-88 win over the Spurs led by the historic Tim Duncan.
The white shirt bears the number 6 that James wore in Miami, a team he would leave at the end of next season after losing in the finals against the Spurs. The garment sold last Friday for $3 million, with fees and taxes raising the final price to $3.68 million. That $3 million was in the lower range that Sotheby’s had hoped to raise, estimating the price as high as $5 million.
Still, that price makes it one of the most expensive sports jerseys ever auctioned, though far from the more than $9 million that one raised. Diego Maradona worn during the famous episode of “hand of God” or the more than 10 million paid where Michael Jordan he wore it in one game in the 1998 finals.
