NBA bans Memphis player for one game after hitting opponent in the groin

Dillon Brooks (Memphis) and Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland) were punished by the National Basketball Association (NBA) for fighting in the regular season game.

In the third quarter of the Cleveland-Memphis game (128:113), Brooks hit Mitchell in the groin area. Mitchell responded by throwing the ball at the offender. Then a fight broke out, after which the basketball players were kicked out of the venue.

According to ESPN, Brooks was suspended for one game with lost wages, Mitchell was fined $20,000.

Brooks will not play at home against Toronto on February 5.
