The head coach of the national team shared his expectations from the decisive selection matches for the 2023 World Cup.

Ainars Bagatskis believes that the Ukrainian team will struggle in the World Cup qualifier against Italy. Despite the fact that the Appeninians have finished the main task and have qualified for the world championship, they will still play to win in front of their audience.

The specialist also expressed satisfaction with the composition of his team, which he managed to assemble for the decisive qualifying matches.

“Compared to November, Pustovoy and Bliznyuk came back, I like the way Vladimir Konev played for Budivelnik. In fact, we always followed his game, but before that other players were more suitable for the national team . Here we are talking not only about statistics, but Ilya Tyrtyshnik also made his debut in the national team last window, played a little, but defended, scored a three-pointer, which means that he is useful to the team.

Today we focus more on experienced players, but there is also young Alexander Kovlyar, who is expected to debut in the national team. I want to say that I am very pleased with the warehouse that I am going to dispose of.
