Head coach of the Russian national basketball team Zoran Lukic explained that the task during the squad gathering and during matches with Serbian clubs is to watch young players and create team chemistry.

The Russian national team will play two matches in Serbia: with Mega (February 21) and FMP (February 23). On Friday, the national team holds an open training session at the Novogorsk training camp.

No mood issues. There are problems that the players came to training camp after heavy loads, they arrived a little tired. But I’m happy that they have playing time in their league, ”reports the correspondent of according to the words of Lukich.

– Who deserves the credit for the matches taking place in Serbia?

– The most important thing is that we managed to organize these matches. Of course, the federation helped to organize these meetings. Therefore, we tried to organize the matches, but not to influence the regulations of the Serbian teams. The most important thing for me is to watch the young people, to work with them, to create the “chemistry” to build the foundations.

We can’t wait to get back to European competitions, so I’m really hoping for these guys and cooking them with pleasure. The emphasis is on young people, we must be able to move in this direction. Those we already know, the more experienced guys, all of this is familiar to me. And now I want to look at the youngsters and look at their abilities.

– Who can be distinguished in this team?

– Above all, you have to be a team, create “chemistry”. But hopefully in the future I will train these guys and they will have a leader.
