Schundel and Konev will not play with Italy in qualifying for the 2023 World Cup

The national team of Ukraine held the first training session in Livorno

Defender Anatoly Shundel and forward Vladimir Konev won’t play for national team of Ukraine against Italy in qualifying for the 2023 World Cup.

Vladimir did not go to Italy because of the high temperature. Anatoly, who replaced the injured forward Artem Kovalev a few days ago, also did not get into the application.

The Ukrainian national team held its first training session in Livorno. On Thursday, the team of Ainars Bagatskis will play against Italy, and on the 26th they will close the qualification with a nominally home match in Riga against the Netherlands.

Italy have already qualified for the World Cup. Three national teams – Ukraine, Georgia and Iceland – apply for the last ticket from our group.

Before the final window, Ukraine has an advantage over Georgia and Iceland in personal meetings, but loses to competitors in terms of the number of victories won. The Ukrainians need to win both matches and hope that Iceland and Georgia lose at least one match each.
