Moscow CSKA ahead of schedule became the regular VTB United League Championship winner.
The army team took the overall victory when the basketball players on Monday “Nizhny Novgorod picked up a home win over Kazan UNICS (78:68).
During the championship, CSKA updated the league record by winning 24 games in a row. By taking first place, the Moscow team secured home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.
Zenit and UNICS continue to fight for second place in the standings, while Nizhny Novgorod, Lokomotiv-Kuban and MBA are fighting for 4th place in the regular season. In group B, 4 teams at once – PARMA-PARI, Samara, Avtodor and Yenisei – claim two tickets for the playoffs.
The VTB United League regular season will end on March 26 and the first round of playoffs will start on March 31.
