The seventh game of the VTB United League final series between CSKA and “Zenith” became the most visited in the history of the tournament playoffs, which has been held since 2008.
The match took place on Sunday, May 5 in Moscow at the Megasport Arena and ended in victory for the club from St. Petersburg with the score of 81:75. According to official figures, 12,231 supporters came to the match.
The previous record for a United League play-off game was set in May 2013, when Lithuania’s Zalgiris hosted Lokomotiv in Kaunas. Then the meeting was attended by 10121 spectators.
The Petersburgers won the series 4-3 and became the tournament winners for the first time in history.
