And sometimes you also need luck. At the same time, almost until the last round, we fought to reach the playoffs. Not all United League debutants have made it. We were competitive in the strongest league in the country,” Bazarevich said.
Samara president Kamo Poghosyan said that during the season the club faced a number of reasons why they failed to reach the playoffs.
– The club’s first season in the United League did not end as we would have liked. There are many reasons why this issue could not be resolved. But we have all gained a lot of experience this year. Together with Sergei Valerianovich, we discussed the results in detail and decided that since the main task of reaching the playoffs had not been solved, it would be right to stop cooperation. We are grateful to him for this season,” Poghosyan said.
Bazarevich managed Samara last year. Previously, he coached Dynamo Moscow, Krasnye Krylia, Lokomotiv-Kuban, Italy’s Kantu and Turkey’s Trabzonspor.
