Defender “Paris of Nizhny Novgorod” Yevgeny Baburine was recognized as the best defender in the VTB United League Championship in the 2022/23 season, the league’s press service reports.
During the regular season that ended, Baburin played 32 games, in which he averaged 8.3 points and had 2.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
The defender turned out to be the best in the league in steals (2.2) and the Nizhny Novgorod team became third in the regular season in defensive play, allowing an average of 75.3 points per game.
The prize in the category “Best Defensive Player” is awarded for the ninth time. Baburin became the first Pari Nizhny Novgorod player in league history to receive this award.
