Six-time NBA champion Chicago Bulls Michael Jordan’s running shoes sold for $2.2 million. This was reported by the press service of the auction house Sotheby’s .
Jordan wore the shoe in Game 2 of the 1998 NBA Finals against Utah. During this meeting, the basketball player scored 40 points and made seven requisitions.
The lot became a record for the amount of sports shoes sold at auction. Editing Montreal Journal clarified that the last most expensive sneakers sold at auction also belonged to Jordan. They were paid $1.4 million in 2021.
