Coach of the Russian men’s basketball team Zoran Lukic told he was upset by the International Basketball Federation’s decision not to allow the national team to participate in the 2023 Olympic pre-qualifying tournaments.
“We are upset with this decision, but all that remains is to prepare,” Lukic told .
The Bulgarian national team as the next European team with the highest rating will replace the Russian team in the selection.
Due to the situation in Ukraine, Russian clubs and teams have been suspended from participating in tournaments under the auspices of FIBA.
The Paris Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
