Coach Lokomotiv Kuban Yuritsa Zhuzha spoke about the impact of Alexander Sekulich’s withdrawal on the result of the third game of the VTB United League semi-final with CSKA.
The meeting took place in Krasnodar on Thursday and ended with the score of 84:81 (11:25, 30:25, 12:19, 31:12) in favor of the Krasnodar club. During the first half, head coach Sekulich was sent off from the hosts for two technical fouls over disputes with the referees.
– I would like to congratulate our team: at the beginning, we acted gently, but we found the strength to turn things around. In the fourth quarter, you could see what we want to look like every second of every game. I hope this win adds confidence to the guys in their strength.
When a head coach is removed from his position, the assistant does not have time to think about his responsibilities. You’re just trying to make guys feel confident that they have to believe in themselves no matter what. For a long time, it seemed that the outburst of emotions during Sekulich’s dismissal had hurt Lokomotiv-Kuban. But in the end, it was the emotions that helped turn the tide of the match,” quotes the Zhuzha tournament press service.
The series score became 2-1 in favor of Loko. The fourth game will take place on Saturday April 22 in Krasnodar.
Watch the live broadcast of the fourth match of the series starting at 1:55 p.m. (Moscow time) on the channel, as well as on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru sites.
