CSKA basketball player Shved suffered a head injury in a hooligan attack

Basketball player CSKA Alexei Shved suffered a head injury following an attack by hooligans on May 1, according to the Reds-Bleus press service.

On Monday, CSKA lost to Lokomotiv-Kuban in extra time in Game 7 of the VTB United League semi-final playoff series with a score of 100:103. The Swede spent nearly 38 minutes on the floor, scored 22 points, made 5 rebounds and 13 assists.

– The defender of our team Alexei Shved suffered a hooligan attack on him last night at the exit of one of the restaurants in Moscow.

The basketball player suffered a serious head injury following a fall and was taken to hospital by an ambulance. The player contacted the police to investigate the incident. Due to the injury, Shved will not be able to take part in the team’s next matches. We wish Alexei a speedy recovery,” reports the team’s press service.

The army team will play in the series for third place. Their rival will be the loser in a UNICS – Zenit pair, where the series score is always equal – 3-3. The decisive match of the series will take place on May 2 in Kazan.
