VTB United League is ready to provide all necessary assistance to the basketball player CSKA Alexei Shved who suffered a head injury following a hooligan attack, the league president told Sergei Kushchenko .
On Monday, the Shved suffered a thug attack on him at the exit of one of the restaurants in Moscow. The basketball player suffered a head injury following a fall and was taken to hospital by an ambulance. The player contacted the police to investigate the incident. Due to an injury, Shved will not be able to take part in CSKA’s next matches.
– It’s a kind of game, a shame, it is impossible to find other words. We are monitoring the situation closely. As far as I know, Alexei was there with his family. He, of course, could not be the initiator of the incident. It is important to fully understand this whole story. I don’t think it’s a sport or quasi-sport story. Basketball is a smart sport. Law enforcement should give a fairly quick assessment of what happened, after all there is a lot of information, they should definitely know everything.
I wish Alexey good health! A kind of unimaginable story, the horror is simple. Of course we will help Alexei. We will do whatever is necessary to restore his health,” Kushchenko told .
CSKA lost to Krasnodar club Lokomotiv-Kuban in the VTB United League playoff semi-final on Monday. In the match for third place, the Red-Blue will play with the loser in a pair UNICS (Kazan) – Zenit (St. Petersburg).
