President Lokomotiv Kuban Andrei Vedischev told that the goal of the Krasnodar team this season is to win the Belov Cup.
On Tuesday, UNICS Kazan defeated Zenit St. Petersburg (80:79) in the seventh game of the VTB United League semi-final series and reached the final, where they will meet Lokomotiv-Kuban.
The Krasnodar team had already beaten CSKA in a seven-game series.
– Now we know that we will play the final with UNICS. In principle, it does not matter who the opponent would be – Zenit or UNICS. Because they are two teams with deep rosters, good players, great coaches. So it won’t be an easy series, but we’re ready for it. Since we are already in the final, of course, we will play to win. Our goal is to win the Belov Cup, to become champions,” Vedishchev told a correspondent.
– Have you ever realized and believed that Loko is in the final?
– Directed, of course. And today we thought all day who we were going to play. Now we know the opponent and we will prepare for it. There is very little preparation time: 3-4 days in total. We must therefore recover physically and prepare for the first matches in Kazan.
The first two games of the final series will take place in Kazan on May 6 and 8.
