Bagatskis team continues preparations for July 2023 World Cup qualifiers

Ukrainian national basketball team completed the first stage of the training camp in Riga. In the capital of Latvia, the team of Ainars Bagatskis was preparing for the qualifying matches of the 2023 World Cup.

Ilya Sidorov, Vitaliy Zotov, Alexander Kovlyar, Ilya Tyrtyshnik, Pavel Krutous, Anatoly Shundel, Andrey Voynalovich, Ivan Tkachenko, Artem Kovalev, Sergey Pavlov, Igor Sergeev, Vyacheslav Bobrov, Vyacheslav Kravtsov, Dmitry Skapintsev and Issuf trained in Riga as part of the Ukrainian national team Sanon.

In Italy, where the second stage of the preparation of the Ukrainian national team will take place, Artem Pustovoi, Oleksandr Mishula, Denis Lukashov and Vyacheslav Petrov should join the team.

The collection will take place in the city of Roseto degli Abruzzi and will last until June 22. After that, the blue-yellows will go to Portugal, where they will play friendly matches with the local team and Slovakia.

On June 26, Bagatskis’ team will return to Riga, where on July 1 and 7, Ukraine will play two nominally home qualifying matches against Georgia and Spain, respectively. On July 4, the blue-yellows will play away with North Macedonia.

In qualifying for the World Cup, Ukraine played three matches, defeating North Macedonia and losing away to Georgians and Spaniards. In their group, the blue-yellows take third place. The top three teams from each group will advance to the next round of selection.
