On May 1, CSKA lost to Krasnodar club Lokomotiv-Kuban (100:103) in the seventh game of the VTB United League semi-final playoff series and ended the title fight. In the evening of the same day, unidentified people attacked Shved near one of the restaurants in Moscow, the player was injured in the head with fractures of the bones of the skull and a contusion of the brain.
On Wednesday, the Interior Ministry announced the arrest of three suspects in the Shved attack. According to them, the fight took place because of the athlete’s wife. A criminal case has been opened, the attackers risk up to 12 years in prison.
CSKA announced on Tuesday that Shved will not be able to take part in the team’s games in the series for third place in the United League.
