The Moscow prosecutor’s office withdrew the criminal case for inflicting bodily harm on the defender CSKA Alexei Shved in the Moscow center of the production of investigative bodies of internal affairs. This was reported by the press service of the department.
On May 1, CSKA lost to Krasnodar club Lokomotiv-Kuban (100:103) in the seventh game of the VTB United League semi-final playoff series and ended the title fight. In the evening of the same day, unknown persons attacked Shved near one of the restaurants in Moscow, the player suffered head injuries with fractures of the bones of the skull and a contusion of the brain.
– Since one of the defendants is a minor, and the crime in which he is suspected belongs to the category of especially serious crimes, by decision of the Presnensky interdistrict prosecutor, in accordance with the requirements of the legislation on jurisdiction, the case criminal was transferred for further investigation to the territorial body of the Moscow Investigative Committee.
Three suspects aged 17 and 20 were detained pursuant to s. 91 Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation. Their possible accomplices are being identified. The investigation of the case is under the control of the Moscow prosecutor’s office, – follows from the message of the Moscow prosecutor’s office.
On Wednesday, the Interior Ministry announced the arrest of three suspects in the Shved attack. They explained that the fight happened because of the athlete’s wife. The attackers risk up to 12 years in prison.
CSKA announced on Tuesday that Shved will not be able to take part in the team’s games in the series for third place in the United League.
