Players of the Rivne club are ready to move to the highest level
The president BC Rivne Sergey Lishchuk announced the possible participation of the team in the Super League in the new season. According to Lishchuk, this issue was not resolved in the last championship due to lack of funding.
“When I returned to Rovno, I promised myself first of all that we would achieve the gold of the Major League and I think we should have done this last year. We have now won, and with this we have drawn an intermediate line, we have completed the intermediate task.
“Now you need to sit down and take stock, count, think about how to develop further. Of course, there is a great desire to get into the Superleague. I think it’s time for us.”
“There was an opportunity to do it this year as well, but by the start of the season we had no funding, so it would have been adventurous. As the season progressed, the situation improved and we calmly finished the championship.”
“As for the next season, there are certain developments, there are certain opinions. We will communicate with the leaders of the region, the city, meet with sponsors and patrons. I would very much like to try myself in the Super League, but for now I don’t want to make plans so that I won’t be ashamed of my words. There is a desire, there is a certain vision and time for preparation, collection of information, funds. We’ll see what happens, but I’m optimistic that our men’s team will play in the Super League.”
BC Rivne triumphed in the Premier League of Ukraine. Budivelnik from the capital under the leadership of Dmitry Zabirchenko became the champion of the Superleague.
