“It’s not easy to see your player in such a state” – CSKA coach Rajkovic on Shved

The head coach CSKA Emile Raikovitch told that it was difficult for him to see the current state Alexei Shved after attacking a basketball player.

On May 1, CSKA lost to Krasnodar club Lokomotiv-Kuban (100:103) in the seventh game of the United League semi-final playoff series and ended the title fight. In the evening of the same day, unidentified people attacked Shved near one of the restaurants in Moscow, the player was injured in the head with fractures of the bones of the skull and a contusion of the brain.

On Wednesday, the Interior Ministry announced the arrest of three suspects in the Shved attack. According to them, the fight took place because of the athlete’s wife. A criminal case has been opened, the attackers risk up to 12 years in prison.

“It’s not easy to see your ward in such a state. We just have to pray for his recovery so he can get back to normal as soon as possible. Of course, basketball is not the main thing for him now. The main thing is his health and his family,” Raikovich told .
