The investigation laid charges of hooliganism with the use of violence against three defendants in the case of the assault of a basketball player CSKA Alexei Shved according to the press service of the Moscow prosecutor’s office.
Three defendants in the criminal case were charged under Part 2 of Art. 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism committed by a group of people with the use of violence against citizens). This article is punishable by a fine in the amount of 500,000 rubles to 1 million rubles, or the amount of salary or other income of the convict for a period of three to four years, or hard labor up to five years, or a prison term of up to seven years.
– The relevant procedural documents have been received by the Presnensky interdistrict prosecutor’s office. The investigation of the criminal case and the search for the whereabouts of the accomplice of the accused are under the control of the prosecution.
On May 1, CSKA lost to Krasnodar club Lokomotiv-Kuban (100:103) in the seventh game of the VTB United League semi-final playoff series and ended the title fight. In the evening of the same day, Shved was attacked near one of the restaurants in Moscow, the player suffered head injuries with fractures of the bones of the skull and a contusion of the brain.
On Wednesday, the Interior Ministry announced the arrest of three suspects in the Shved attack. According to them, the fight took place because of the athlete’s wife.
CSKA announced on Tuesday that Shved will not be able to take part in the team’s matches in the series for third place in the VTB United League.
