Prometheus ordered to pay ex-team player Reed more than $100,000

The American played for the Ukrainian club in 2020

The FIBA Basketball Arbitration Tribunal (BAT FIBA) made a decision in the case of the American defender Marchioness Reid against Prometheus. The player accused the Ukrainian club of illegal termination of the contract.

BAT ordered Prometheus to pay Reid more than $100,000: €83,100 (≈$87,421) – the balance of salary for the 2020/21 season; $8,028.82 for arbitration costs; $9,468.75 legal fee.

It is noted that BAT recognized the decision to terminate the contract as unfounded, since Prometheus did not provide evidence that Reid violated the rules of the club.

Reed competed for Prometheus from July to November 2020. On average, the legionnaire brought the team 13.8 points and gave 3.2 assists per match.

Recall that in March, Prometheus President Vladimir Dubinsky announced the dissolution of all club teams against the backdrop of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
