Moscow prosecutor’s office indicts fourth suspect in attack on CSKA basketball player Shved

For the fourth suspect in the attack on the basketball player CSKA Alexei Shved accused, according to the press service of the Moscow prosecutor’s office.

On May 1, CSKA lost to Krasnodar club Lokomotiv-Kuban (100:103) in the seventh game of the VTB United League semi-final playoff series and ended the title fight. In the evening of the same day, unknown persons attacked Shved near one of the restaurants in Moscow.

– Male born in 1992 charged with committing crimes, under paragraph “e” h. 2 Section. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentionally inflicting serious bodily harm, dangerous to human life, for hooligan motives) and Part 2 of Art. 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism committed by a group of people with the use of violence against citizens), the statement said.

Earlier on Friday, the Presnensky court in Moscow sent three defendants of beating Shved under arrest. The defendants, including a minor participant in the trial, will remain in detention until July 2, 2023; they pleaded not guilty in court. The defendants were charged under the article “Hooliganism committed by a group of persons with the use of violence against citizens”.
