“That game with CSKA could have gone differently” – basketball head coach “Zenith” Pascual

Three-minute lead in the third quarter ruined the plan “Zenith” in Game 4 of the VTB United League third-place series against Moscow CSKA said the head coach of the St. Petersburg team Javier Pascal .

The meeting in St. Petersburg on Friday ended with a score of 77:72 in favor of the army team.

– First of all, I want to congratulate CSKA for the victory. It was a very tough and even game. But it could have turned out differently for us. For 37 minutes we played as planned. But the first three minutes of the third quarter, when CSKA pulled away, ruined the whole plan. It seems that these were not fatal errors, but they happened one after the other. Not an obligatory foul from Toropov, a few three-pointers, something else – in the end it all turned out to be a defeat,” correspondent quoted Javier Pascual as saying.

– Ertel had passing problems, but he always stayed on the pitch. For what?

– We have players from whom, when they are on the pitch, we can expect more than from those who are on the bench. Ertel’s points got us back into the game at some point. But the problem remains the same – you need to score under the basket.

– Kulagin and Karasev fully recovered?

– You can’t say the same about Karasev. His appearance is explained by the fact that he really wanted to contribute to this series. Dima Kulagin has fully recovered.

— Last season you managed to win the series against CSKA, losing 1-3 on the way. Is it possible this time?

You cannot compare the seasons. Different compositions, we hurt each other. But we are determined and we will fight in Moscow to win.

The score in the series up to four wins is 3-1 in favor of CSKA. The fifth match will take place on Monday, May 15 in Moscow. Watch live broadcasts of United League matches on the channel and other holding channels, as well as on the sportbox.ru and matchtv.ru websites.
