The premiere of a documentary dedicated to PBC CSKA in the 2021/22 season took place on Match TV

June 15 on the Match! Country” preview of the documentary film “More expensive than gold”, dedicated to the 2021/22 season of PBK CSKA .

The nearly half-hour film chronicles the team’s trip to Norilsk, where the army team played against an amateur team. For the first time, such a high-level professional team in its entirety found itself beyond the Arctic Circle, where it descended into the mine almost a kilometer deep.

The film also recounts the highlights of the Rouge-Bleu in Euroleague and VTB United League: the injury of Nikola Milutinov, a series of defeats, a meeting with supporters, the departure of legionnaires, the signing of new players and a brilliant series final against Zenith.

At the very beginning of the season, center Milutinov suffered a knee injury, the recovery from which took several months. After that, a series of injuries and illnesses hit CSKA, during which the army team suffered five straight defeats for the first time in many years. The unsuccessful streak caused an emergency meeting of CSKA players and management with fans and journalists.

The end of the season also turned out to be atypical and unforgettable. The team was greatly renewed after the departure of many foreign players, but managed to reach the final of the VTB United League, where, in a confrontation in seven matches, for the first time in almost 20 years, she failed to win the title of Russian champions.
