Serbian basketball player Nikola Milutinov said it was an honor for him to play for the Moscow team CSKA noting that he enjoyed every minute of the game in the “red-blue”.
On Tuesday, CSKA announced that Milutinov was leaving the basketball club.
— It’s hard to say goodbye to all the wonderful teammates, friends and fans I met at CSKA and in Moscow. I enjoyed every minute of being and playing there. It was a great honor for me to play for such a great historical club. But it’s time to move on. I wish you all the best and good luck! I’m sure CSKA will return to the top of Europe, and we’ll meet again! – quotes the words of Milutinov, the press service of CSKA.
club president Andrey Vatutine said that it was impossible to replace such a basketball player as Milutinov,
– Milutinov is, if not the best, at least one of the 3 best centers playing in Europe at the moment. And also a wonderful person with an established internal value system. A year ago he had the opportunity to move to one of the Euroleague clubs, but he assured me that he would stay, that he wanted to help the team regain the title. Alas, it didn’t work out, but that has nothing to do with his diligence and dedication. At the most difficult time, he showed the resilience and patriotism of the club, showed the highest professionalism and the desire to enter the field in every game, sometimes despite injuries. It is impossible to replace a player with such a set of basketball qualities, such a brilliant skill. But such is life, Vatutin noted.
Milutinov has been defending the colors of CSKA since 2020, in total he has played 119 matches for the Rouge-Bleu. Milutinov averaged 14.7 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists last season in the VTB United League.
