Ukrainian – about a new contract in the NBA
Ukrainian defender Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk appreciated his performance Charlotte in the 2022/23 season. The player of the Ukrainian national team noted that he would like to remain in the Hornets.
“I played my best season in the NBA here, statistically. I like everything very much, I like the attitude of the coaches. A beautiful, calm city. I would be very pleased to stay here,” Mikhailuk said.
“So I think there is a chance. This year it will be easier with the contract, I think. I played my best. I liked the way I played, people liked it. What happens, happens.”
Mikhailuk joined Charlotte in February. The Ukrainian became part of an exchange between the Portland Trail Blazers, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Hornets.
In the 2022/23 season, Mikhailyuk played 19 matches for Charlotte. The defender averaged 10.6 points and 2.7 assists per game.
Charlotte (27-55) finished the season in 14th place in the NBA Eastern Conference and did not qualify for the playoffs.
