Jokic to play for Serbia at EuroBasket 2022

The Denver star will join the national team in August

Center Nikola Jokic will play for the Serbian national team at the 2022 European Basketball Championship.

Serbian national teams director Dragan Tarlach has confirmed that the current NBA MVP will be at the national team’s location for the World Cup qualifiers in August and will stay for the EuroBasket finals.

At the continental championship, Serbia will play in group “D” against the teams of the Czech Republic, Poland, Finland, Israel and the Netherlands.

EuroBasket 2022 starts on September 1 and will be held at the venues of the Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy and Germany.

In 2022, Jokic was named NBA MVP for the second time in a row, where the Serb is the leader of the Denver Nuggets. In 2016, the center won the silver medal of the Olympic tournament in Rio with the national team.

The Ukrainian national team at EuroBasket will play in Group C against Greece, Italy, Croatia, Estonia and Great Britain.
