Head coach of Pari Nizhny Novgorod and the Russian national team Zoran Lukic told that the last season of the VTB United League was the best in terms of basketball beauty and interest.
Last season, UNICS Kazan defeated Lokomotiv-Kuban Krasnodar 4-1 in the playoff final. In the series for third place, CSKA Moscow took over Zenit St. Petersburg – 4-1.
— For me, the last season of the VTB United League was the best in terms of interest, results and entertainment for basketball. This is what the fans need. Also this season the Russians have been given a lot of playing time. I’m sure next season will go the same way.
– Two new clubs in the league, is that a plus?
— I’m always happy when the Russians have playing time. With the new clubs, the demand for players increases. Maybe they weren’t enough. For the national team and the league this is a huge plus, there will finally be more clubs,” Lukic told .
In May, it was announced that Uralmash Yekaterinburg and Runa Moscow would be admitted to the VTB United League for a one-year trial period. Both teams will play for the first time in the league.
