Stephen A. Smithanalyst at NBAgenerated controversy by stating that the pivot of the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony Davisis better than Luka Doncic. The US ESPN commentator stressed that he would choose the California franchise’s number 3 over the Slovenian and also from Nikola Jokicpivot of Denver Nuggets and current league MVP.
“Today, I would pick several players ahead of Anthony because of his injuries. But the keyword in this discussion is ‘healthy’. So here, I will not consider the physical problems. So, speaking only of technique and skill, I would choose Anthony over Luka.”nailed Smith, during the program “First Take”. “I would select Anthony over Nikola as well. I would certainly do that.”

Smith further extended the controversy: “And, by the way, I go further: no matter how good they are, Jimmy Butler and Jayson Tatum, I would also catch Anthony before them. He wouldn’t be a supporting player, first of all, playing with these players in Miami and Boston. And I guarantee it because LeBron James it’s the Los Angeles Lakers would not have been champions, back in 2020, without this man.”
Still, the commentator reinforced once again that this is a 100% healthy version of Davis, who recently returned to training after saying he hadn’t picked up a basketball since early April. “Give me the absolute best condition of all these athletes mentioned and then the best Anthony possible. I have no doubt that, at the end of the day, he is one of the seven best players in this league.”added the commentator.
