Dmitry Zabirchenko’s team is preparing for the 2023 European Championship in Division B
National team of Ukraine U-20 lost in basketball Latvia in the control match, which took place in Riga – 67:78.
The hosts had a better first half, but the blue-yellows managed to equalize the game in the third quarter. The final 10-minute period was decisive, Latvia won this segment by 9 points and won the match.
Oleksandr Kobzisty became the top scorer among the Ukrainians with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Note that the head coach of the blue-and-yellows Dmitry Zabirchenko used 16 players on the court.
The national team of Ukraine U-20 will continue preparations for the European Championship in Lithuanian Joniskis. Zabirchenko’s team has two more test matches scheduled.
The Ukrainian youth team will perform at EuroBasket 2023 in division B. The Ukrainians will compete with the teams of Sweden, Georgia and Kosovo. The tournament will be held in Skopje (Macedonia) from 7 to 16 July.
