After a bad campaign last season, the San Antonio Spurs have the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft; check the date and order of choices

The 2023 NBA Draft will be held on June 22, the moment long awaited by teams. With the lottery already defined, having the san antonio spurs with the first choice, the main signing name is the French pivot Victor Wembanyama.

The Texas franchise, five times champion of the basketball league, must hire the 19-year-old center. Wembanyama, who is considered by many to be one of the biggest prospects since LeBron James.

With one of the worst campaigns of the 2022/23 regular season, the Spurs took advantage of the NBA Draft lottery, and were in the best position to make the ‘perfect pick’ and reinforce the roster with the possible arrival of one of the biggest promises of recent basketball history. Wembanyama is an offensive player who combines versatility in attack, in addition to good defensive positioning. At just 19 years old, he is considered the ‘new Lebron James’ of the generation.

At 2.21m, the boy manages to combine his strength with great technical ability. Therefore, the expectation is that the 2023/24 season will be different for the Spurs, who hope to succeed with the French promise, who will be able to shine in a place where Tony Parker immortalized his name in world basketball.
