Legendary basketball player and six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan finalizes the sale of a majority stake “Charlotte Hornets” according to TMZ Sports.
Jordan became the majority owner of the club in 2010, acquiring a majority stake for $275 million.
According to the publication, entrepreneurs Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall will become owners of the club in the coming days when a final agreement is reached between the parties. The possible amount of the transaction is not called.
Jordan will retain a minority stake in the Hornets and continue to run the club’s basketball operations through next week’s NBA Draft until the free agent market opens on July 1.
