2023 NBA Draft No. 1 Victor Vembanyama has said he won’t help the France team at the World Championships because, at the moment, playing for the national team seems unreasonable in terms of his health.
The world championship will take place from August 25 to September 10 in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines.
“It was unrealistic from a development point of view and reckless from a health point of view. I hope people will understand me. I am upset too. I want to win as many trophies as possible with the France team” , quotes L’Equipe, a 19-year-old basketball player.
Vembanyama was selected by the San Antonio with the first pick of the 2023 draft.
