President of the Russian Basketball Federation Andrei Kirilenko told that the extension of the suspension of national clubs from participating in the Euroleague is outdated information which does not interest CSR.
On July 4, the Euroleague board extended the suspension of Russian clubs for next season.
– Looking at what is happening in basketball and all other sports in our country, we have to forget for a few years what is happening at all.
This does not mean that there is no need to work in this direction, but it is necessary to consider the future with realism. This is purely my personal opinion.
Perhaps now you need to look more within your country. Pay more attention to your league, to your students. Give our players more opportunities and look for international fights unofficially. No Euroleague, no official FIBA tournaments, just private friendlies.
Today, it is the reality of our basketball, our sport. This is how we go. The extension of the ban is already old information that we are not interested in,” Kirilenko told .
